Britain Valenti

Britain Valenti is a screenwriter and producer currently working in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, she received her BA in Drama with a Minor in Writing from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. After a few years of teaching acting classes and doing performance art back in New Orleans, she was accepted into the Dramatic Writing (TV, Screen and Playwriting) program at Carnegie Mellon University, where she received her MFA.

After moving to LA, her first project was the YouTube webseries titled “Interrogation: A Scifi Webseries” – still available online. “Interrogation” was typified by its dedication to diversity: two of the main cast members were performers with disabilities, the onscreen cast were racially diverse, and had a majority of female and POC directors.

In 2018 among other accolades, her screenplay “Secret Lives of Youtubers” was a Top Ten Finalist in Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope Screenplay Competition. Now with talent attached and producers on board, the film is being prepped to shoot in 2023.  Her dramatic short film, “Head Wound”, was an Official Selection for the 2017 San Jose International Short Film Festival, 2018 River Bend Film Festival, and others. Her super-butch lesbian serial-killer script “Bulldyke” landed Britain on the International Screenwriter Association’s “Top 50 Screenwriters” list for their 2017 Fast Track program. And her comedic film noir short that she wrote and voiced, “Wood Pickman: Private Eye”, was screened at the 2017 Bogart Film Noir Shorts Competition. Her family comedy feature “Georgia’s Wedding” is currently optioned by Bold Horse Media.
